Mr. Proctor's practice
experience includes mergers, acquisitions, and securities work for banks
and thrift institutions and their holding companies, as well as corporate
and regulatory matters pertaining to financial institutions. His experience
also includes specialized financial institution services, such as securities
brokerage, investment advisory, and asset management services, trust departments,
and insurance products and services. Mr. Proctor serves on the Legal Issues and Workplace Policies Committee of the North Carolina Chamber and on North Carolina Bar Association committees that deal with legislative issues affecting financial institutions and trust administration. He is a recipient of the John Huske Anderson Award and has been rated by his peers as being "preeminent" in his fields of law. Mr. Proctor also serves as president of the New Bern Civic Theatre. Prior to joining
the firm, he served as related financial services counsel for one of
North Carolina's major multi-bank holding companies. Earlier, Mr. Proctor
practiced law with a large firm in Raleigh.
