Mr. Daniels' practice focuses on the corporate, financial, and intellectual property needs of technology‑based emerging growth companies.  He has handled matters ranging from pre-start-up counseling, private offerings, venture capital deals, and technology licensing, to nine-digit exit transactions involving public companies.  Mr. Daniels has received much recognition for his distinguished service as a lawyer, including the following: inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and Who's Who in American Law, and recognition in "Legal Elite," a list of the best attorneys in the state by Business North Carolina.  He also has been the recipient of the "Legal-Financial Award" by the North Carolina Technology Association, "Service Provider of the Year" by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, and the distinguished "Charles Hamner Award for Service to the Biotechnology Community."  Mr. Daniels was the youngest attorney in North Carolina to have received the rating by his peers as being "preeminent" in his fields of law.  He also has served in many leadership positions in the technology community.  Mr. Daniels is currently chairman of the Statewide Advisory Board of the North Carolina Small Business and Technology Development Center and has served as chairman of the North Carolina Technology Development Authority, chairman of the Governor's Task Force on Solar Law, and chairman of several nationally attended Biotech and Venture Capital Conferences sponsored by the North Carolina Biotechnology Center and the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, including the upcoming Venture 2008.  He has been a frequent speaker before attorneys, accountants, and business persons on topics related to emerging growth companies, and he has taught courses at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business on Starting and Growing Technology Companies.
