Mr. Durr is leader of the Litigation Section. His practice experience encompasses various areas of civil litigation. Mr. Durr has represented clients in a broad variety of family law matters with an emphasis on complex equitable distribution and custody cases. Other areas of his litigation practice include insurance coverage disputes, personal injury, civil rights litigation, and appellate practice in both federal and state courts. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Durr practiced civil litigation and family law in Binghamton, New York. His experience includes several jury trials to verdict and numerous appellate arguments before the Appellate Divisions of the Third and Fourth Departments. Mr. Durr also presided over numerous jury trials in his capacity as the Acting Village Justice and Village Justice for the Village of Johnson City, New York. He has lectured to local court magistrates across New York State in various continuing legal education programs. Since coming to North Carolina, Mr. Durr has also lectured to family law practitioners regarding equitable distribution.
