Leslie G. Van Der Have Receives Family Law Certification

Ward and Smith, P.A. is pleased to announce that attorney Leslie G. Van Der Have received certification as a Family Law Specialist by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization.  The North Carolina State Bar certifies lawyers as specialists in designated practice areas as a service to the public to identify lawyers who have demonstrated special knowledge, skill, and proficiency in certain areas of law.  The specialty of family law is the practice of law relating to marriage, divorce, alimony, child custody and support, equitable distribution, enforcement of support, domestic violence, bastardy, and adoption.

Ms. Van Der Have's practice experience encompasses separation disputes, child custody disputes, termination of parental rights, adoptions, and equitable distributions.  Among her community and civic involvements, she has been a presenter for Pro Se Custody Clinic organized by Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc., and served as a volunteer judge with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice in mock trial competitions.
