Morgan Arnold Earns E-Discovery Certification

Ward and Smith, P.A. is pleased to announce that Morgan Arnold is a Certified EDiscovery Specialist ("CEDS").  The certification is an assurance to employers, colleagues, and clients that the CEDS professional is serious about efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and risk reduction in all phases of electronic discovery ("e-discovery").  Morgan joins a growing community of certified professionals at some of the largest and most respected law firms and organizations.

"With this certification and the knowledge that comes with it, Morgan can better serve the firm and our clients with their e-discovery needs," said Charles Collins, Ward and Smith's Director of IT.

The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists ("ACEDS") is the member organization for professionals in both the public and private sectors who work in the field of e-discovery.  A vendor-neutral, independent organization, ACEDS developed the CEDS certification to recognize professionals who are competent and knowledgeable in e-discovery regardless of whether they are attorneys, litigation support staff, records managers, information technology specialists, technology officials, court personnel, paralegals, or consultants.  CEDS is the most widely held industry certification among litigation support managers and directors.

In her role as Applications and Litigation Technology Specialist, Morgan assists our litigation practice team on a variety of matters throughout various stages of the case.  Her primary focus involves the preservation, collection, processing, and production of client data and the overall management of the firm's electronic discovery databases.  She researches the latest rulings, trends, and changes that impact the areas of e-discovery, legal technology, and client data.  Morgan also provides assistance to our litigators at trial, mediations, and arbitrations, acting as our "hot-seat" tech person, utilizing and operating technology to create and present dynamic and compelling exhibits and demonstratives.
