Phillip Cowan is an experienced family law attorney who represents clients in a wide range of domestic matters, including divorce, child custody and support, spousal support and alimony, premarital and separation agreements, termination of parental rights, and domestic violence cases. He has significant experience handling complex financial matters impacting divorce settlements, such as business valuations, property division, equitable distribution, and issues related to high-net-worth marital estates.

While Phillip is a strong advocate in the courtroom, he also helps clients resolve disputes outside of litigation through negotiation, mediation, and settlement. He combines a deep understanding of family dynamics and financial issues with a strategic approach to help clients reach practical and efficient resolutions, especially when preserving relationships or reducing conflict is a priority.

Before entering private practice, Phillip gained valuable litigation experience in the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, where he developed the skills and instincts that continue to serve his clients today.
