Art With Purpose: Ward and Smith Helps Honor the Legacy of Julian T. Pierce

On August 8, 2026, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke will host the 13th Annual Julian T. Pierce Memorial Art Dinner, an evening where art, community, and educational opportunity come together.

Presented by the Julian T. Pierce Legacy Foundation, Inc., the event celebrates the life and work of Julian T. Pierce, whose legacy continues to inspire a commitment to education, equality, and service. Local artists from a variety of backgrounds donate their work for auction, turning creativity into meaningful support for students.

Funds raised through the Memorial Art Dinner help advance the Foundation’s mission and support students facing tuition and other educational expenses. During the past 12 years, the Foundation has made contributions to Robeson Community College, UNC Pembroke, and the North Carolina Central University School of Law.
