Attorney Jameson Doub Appointed to Local Rules Committee for U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina

Ward and Smith is pleased to announce that Jameson Doub, an attorney in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice, has been appointed to the Local Rules Committee of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

The appointment was made by order dated September 9, 2026, signed by each of the Court’s sitting bankruptcy judges.

The Local Rules Committee assists the Court in reviewing its local rules, recommending new rules and amendments, and gathering input from the bar and the public on proposed changes. The Committee also supports the public comment process that comes before the adoption of any new or amended local rule.

Jameson will serve as a Class 2 member of the Committee for a four-year term running through September 30, 2029. Members serve staggered terms across three classes so that the Committee keeps its continuity. They may serve up to two consecutive terms and become eligible for reappointment one year after their service ends.

Jameson practices in the firm’s Greenville office. He represents financial institutions, lenders, and other creditors in collections, workouts, and bankruptcy proceedings. His practice covers commercial loan transactions, foreclosures, receiverships, restructurings, insolvency proceedings, and bankruptcy representation. Before joining Ward and Smith, he served as a Term Law Clerk to the Honorable Joseph N. Callaway, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of North Carolina, who was among the judges who signed the appointment order.

“I’m honored by the Court’s confidence and look forward to continuing to serve the Eastern District and its bankruptcy bar in this role,” said Jameson.
