Chris Edwards to Present NCAJ Webinar on Briefing and Arguing Civil Appeals
Ward and Smith appellate attorney Chris Edwards will present a webinar for the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) titled “Briefing and Arguing Civil Appeals: Notice to Oral Argument” on March 18, 2026. Chris is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Appellate Practice, and a frequent contributor to the NCAJ.
The program will address the skills required for appeals and how to improve the odds on appeal through topics including: timely filing a proper notice of appeal; persuasive brief structure; selecting and preserving key issues; engage effectively during oral argument; and more.
This program is designed to provide practical guidance for attorneys looking to sharpen their appellate advocacy, improve briefs, and command the courtroom during oral argument.
