On September 29, Ward and Smith, P.A. hosted our annual Construction Conference in Raleigh. The morning presentations covered a variety of construction-related topics from industry experts, government leaders, and Ward and Smith attorneys, while the breakfast and breaks provided networking opportunities for the attendees.
The theme of the conferences was "Framing Your Business for the Future." Attendees tell us that this conference makes them aware of issues that may impact their businesses today and in the future. The presentations covered a number of hot issues for construction this year, including overtime exemption rules scheduled to go into effect December 1, staffing, generation gaps in workforce, green building, and succession planning.
