Ward and Smith is pleased to announce that Hayley Wells has been appointed to lead the firm's Alcoholic Beverage Law Practice Group.
In her new position, Hayley is responsible for strategic planning, practice management, client satisfaction strategies, and providing legal leadership to paralegals and attorneys who practice in the areas of business, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, and zoning and land use planning. Her role is also essential in helping the firm meet its evolving needs and implementing its growth strategy.
Since joining Ward and Smith in 2012, Hayley's practice and leadership within the company have grown tremendously. She was instrumental in the creation of the firm's first Outdoor Sports and Recreation ("OSAR") practice group in 2018 and will continue to serve as OSAR's practice leader.
Additionally, in her alcoholic beverage practice, Hayley will continue to advise brewery and other craft alcoholic beverage clients in various aspects of the law, including permitting, negotiation, preparation and termination of distribution agreements, defense of ALE enforcement actions, labeling compliance, interpretative guidance, music licensing, liability waivers, festival questions, and personnel matters.
