Ward and Smith attorneys Lauren Quinn and Erica Rogers will present at the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Section Intensive Program, “Human Intelligence: The Algorithm and Beyond – Human Advocacy in a Digital Era,” taking place October 23–24 in Asheville.
Quinn and Rogers will join a panel discussion titled “The Value of a Brand: NIL—Name, Image, Likeness and Social Media Influencers.” The session will explore how branding, social media, and artificial intelligence are reshaping family law. The conversation will begin with an overview of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights, including recent developments in high school and collegiate rules, and then move into how these new forms of income and exposure are affecting custody, child support, and equitable distribution.
Panelists will also examine the players involved in NIL matters—from families and agents to schools, boosters, and brands—and how Family and Intellectual Property lawyers can help clients navigate these evolving dynamics.
