Litigators, Sharpen Your Appellate Skills with the NCAJ's Appellate Webinar Series with Chris Edwards

Winning on appeal starts long before the notice is filed — and continues through every step of the process. This three-part virtual CLE series, led by Chris Edwards, Board Certified Specialist in Appellate Practice and Co-Chair of Ward and Smith’s Appellate Practice, will guide trial lawyers through the essential skills, strategies, and procedural nuances of successful appeals.

Drawing on his experience clerking for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Chris provides practical insights that connect trial preparation, issue preservation, and appellate advocacy into a cohesive approach.

Each 60-minute CLE is designed to stand alone, while also building toward a comprehensive understanding of the appellate process, from trial strategy through oral argument.

The North Carolina Advocates for Justice is the leading plaintiff's bar in the state. While designed for NCAJ members, the appellate issues discussed will be of interest to all litigators. Non-members are welcome to attend.
