Norman Leonard Selected to Serve on NCBA Bankruptcy Law Section Council

Ward and Smith is pleased to announce that attorney Norman Leonard has been asked to serve on the North Carolina Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section Council.

The Bankruptcy Section brings together attorneys who practice across all areas of bankruptcy law and represent clients in the three federal bankruptcy districts throughout North Carolina. The section promotes professional development and collaboration through educational programming, networking opportunities, and its annual Bankruptcy Institute. It also plays an active role in updating the Bankruptcy Manual, sponsoring continuing legal education programs, and helping shape the NCBA’s legislative agenda related to bankruptcy matters.

As a council member, Norman will help support the section’s efforts to advance the practice of bankruptcy law, provide valuable resources to practitioners, and foster engagement among attorneys across the state. The Council is also responsible for planning the law section’s CLE.

Norman’s practice encompasses a broad range of creditors’ rights and intellectual property matters. He represents creditors, trustees, and other stakeholders in bankruptcy proceedings, collections, foreclosures, receiverships, and workouts. His clients include financial institutions, community lenders, equipment manufacturers, community associations, logistics companies, and other trade creditors.
