NFIP Flood Insurance Policy Pitfalls: What South Carolina Policyholders Should Know Before Disaster Strikes
April 17, 2026
The Antitrust & Complex Business Disputes Law Section serves attorneys who practice in the areas of antitrust and trade regulation, as well as complex business litigation, including class actions, business torts, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and related commercial disputes. Through educational programming, legislative updates, professional development opportunities, and networking events, the Section supports attorneys navigating some of the most sophisticated legal issues facing businesses today.
As a council member, Payton will help support the Section’s mission of advancing legal education, fostering professional engagement, and addressing issues impacting the practice of antitrust and complex business litigation in North Carolina. She will also have a role in planning the Section’s yearly CLE.
Payton’s practice focuses on trust and estate litigation and complex commercial litigation. She represents beneficiaries, trustees, surviving spouses, and family members in high-stakes fiduciary disputes, while also advising businesses in matters involving trade secrets, unfair and deceptive trade practices, intellectual property disputes, international arbitration, and breach-of-contract claims.
Ward and Smith congratulates Payton on this appointment and looks forward to her contributions to the NCBA’s Antitrust & Complex Business Disputes Law Section.
