Stephanie Crosby to Receive NCBA Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award

Ward and Smith is pleased to announce that Stephanie Crosby, the firm’s business paralegal supervisor, has been selected to receive the 2026 North Carolina Bar Association Outstanding Paralegal Pro Bono Service Award.

The NCBA Pro Bono Committee presents the award annually to an outstanding NCBA Paralegal Division member who has volunteered a substantial amount of time in pro bono legal service to increase access to justice on behalf of persons of limited means and/or charitable groups or organizations.

Over the years, Stephanie has participated in various pro bono projects.  She has served on the North Carolina Bar Foundation’s NC Lawyers on Call (4ALL) Committee since the project was established in 2007 and will celebrate its 20th Annual Lawyers on Call (4ALL) event in March 2027.  She has served two separate 2-year terms as the Co-Chair of the Committee and was the first paralegal to serve as a North Carolina Bar Foundation Committee Chair when she was appointed in 2012.

Stephanie will be recognized at the NCBA Awards and Recognition dinner on Friday, June 26, during the NCBA Annual Meeting in Charlotte.
