Ward and Smith Attorney Amy Wang to Speak at North Carolina Environmental Conference

Ward and Smith attorney Amy Wang will speak at the state’s largest and most comprehensive environmental education event: the North Carolina Environmental Conference (NCEC).

The conference takes place October 6-7 at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

NCEC brings together government officials, business leaders, scientists, engineers, developers, educators, attorneys, consultants, and sustainability professionals from across North Carolina and the Mid-Atlantic region. The two-day program addresses timely environmental issues while helping attendees build practical knowledge and professional relationships.

Amy’s session, “Technical and Legal Dimensions of Stormwater and Water Quality,” is a panel discussing examining the legal and technical issues surrounding drainage, stormwater, and flooding, including NPDES and NCDEQ permit requirements for commercial and industrial operations. The session will also cover approaches to assessing and managing risks tied to industrial chemicals in surface water subject to regulatory-driven remediation.

She will be joined by Peter de Haven and Anna Brand of Geosyntec, with Jeffrey Ahrens of Geosyntec Consultants of NC, P.C. moderating.
