Ward and Smith, P.A. is pleased to announce that Stephanie C. Crosby, Paralegal Coordinator for its Business Practice Group, is the recipient of the North Carolina Bar Association's 2012 Distinguished Paralegal of the Year Award. The award was announced in the August edition of North Carolina Lawyer. Ms. Crosby's dedication to the North Carolina Bar Association spans 15 years. She has served on numerous committees including the Membership Committee, the Lawyer Effectiveness and Quality of Life Committee, and the BarCARES Committee for the Paralegal Division. One of her favorite projects has been the 4ALL initiative. The 4ALL program is a day when attorneys take time to answer calls from the public and provide free legal advice. Ms. Crosby has volunteered with 4ALL since its inception, having served on the inaugural committee during the 2007-2008 bar year. She states, "I absolutely love it…Seeing a bunch of attorneys step up and do that for three hours for one day is great." Ms. Crosby has worked for Ward and Smith for nearly 20 years.
