Ward and Smith, P.A. welcomes Marla S. Bowman, Edward J. "Trip" Coyne, III, and Peter B. von Stein.
Ms. Bowman's practice focuses on a broad range of business, civil, and commercial litigation matters in state and federal court. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and served as Editor in Chief for the Florida Law Review. Ms. Bowman works in the Firm's Raleigh office.
Mr. Coyne maintains a diverse litigation and general business practice. He has significant experience in corporate, construction, commercial, maritime, and real property litigation, and regularly appears as lead or local counsel throughout the state and federal courts of North and South Carolina, as well as in other jurisdictions. Mr. Coyne also provides general business counsel to domestic and international clients. He received his J.D. from Wake Forest School of Law where he served as Editor in Chief for the Wake Forest Intellectual Property Law Journal. Mr. Coyne works in the Firm's Wilmington office.
Mr. von Stein's practice involves a wide range of estate planning and administration issues. He assists clients in the preparation of wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney, and living wills. Mr. von Stein has experience assisting clients with testamentary and lifetime gifting, strategic tax planning, and asset protection. He also works with clients to achieve long‑term care objectives. He received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Mr. von Stein works in the Firm's New Bern office.
