Jennifer V. Boyer
Trusts and Estates Attorney
Jenny is a trusts and estates attorney based in the firm’s Asheville office. Her practice focuses on preparing estate plans tailor-made to fit the individual needs of her clients and their families. Jenny is experienced in assisting clients in a wide range of trusts and estates legal matters including estate and trust administration and related tax filings. She is also well-versed in revising and drafting wills, trusts, and ancillary documents to help each client protect and preserve their assets, as well as meet personal goals and objectives.
Jenny also helps clients modify or decant existing irrevocable trusts to address out-of-date planning and better serve her clients’ needs. Additionally, Jenny advises clients on business formation and business succession planning for family and closely-held businesses.
Before becoming an attorney, Jenny worked as a paralegal specialist in the Procedure and Administration department of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. She reviewed and edited various Tax Court pleadings and motions as the lead paralegal for the division’s litigation program. She also drafted internal procedural and legal memoranda, in addition to preparing responses used by the Department of Justice in FOIA requests.
While in law school at the University of Virginia, she was an editorial board member for the Virginia Law & Business Review and worked at the University’s Legal Aid Justice Center in the Elder Law Clinic.
