Trusts and Estates Paralegal
With a strong foundation in trust and estates, Katie serves as an Estate Planning Paralegal and supports attorneys across the firm’s Greenville and New Bern offices in all aspects of estate planning document preparation.
Katie joined Ward and Smith in January 2021 as a paralegal intern and quickly demonstrated her commitment to the field and the firm. She was hired as a full-time Trust and Estates Administrative Assistant in August 2021 and was promoted to her current role as Estate Planning Paralegal in March 2024. Her steady advancement within the firm reflects her dedication and strong work ethic.
In her current role, Katie works closely with attorneys to prepare, organize, and proofread a wide range of legal documents, including Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives. Her attention to detail ensures that clients receive accurate and well-crafted instruments tailored to their individual needs.
Katie earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in Paralegal Technology from Pitt Community College. She is also a commissioned Notary Public in the State of North Carolina
