Adam M. Beaudoin
Business and Community Associations Attorney
Adam M. Beaudoin chairs Ward and Smith’s Business Section, overseeing one of the firm’s largest practice groups, a team of more than 30 attorneys across all of the firm’s offices. He leads the firm’s Community Associations Practice Group and brings nearly two decades of experience advising community associations, homeowners associations, country clubs, and yacht clubs on the full range of governance and legal matters their boards face: corporate governance, governing document amendments, fiduciary duties, assessment collection, rule enforcement, and entity formation.
In 2023, Adam was elected a Fellow of the College of Community Association Lawyers, a distinction held by fewer than 200 attorneys nationwide and among the most recognized honors in the field. He served as President of the CAI-NC Board of Directors from 2023 to 2024, has presented at local and national CAI events throughout his career, and was named Co-Chairman of the Planning Committee for the 2027 CAI Law Seminar in Washington, D.C.
Adam’s business practice is equally broad. He advises closely held businesses, nonprofits, and franchisors across the full range of transactional and governance matters, including business formations, shareholder and operating agreements, mergers and acquisitions, franchise disclosure documents, and franchise agreements. Clients rely on him to bring order and precision to complex deals and organizational structures.
Adam graduated magna cum laude from James Madison University and cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® from 2024 through 2026.
