May 12, 2026
The annual Law Seminar is one of the most prominent gatherings in the community association law space, drawing more than 1,000 attorneys, insurance professionals, and community association leaders from across the country to explore emerging legal trends, legislative developments, and best practices. In his new role, Adam will help shape the program and direction of the 2027 seminar from the ground up — a responsibility that reflects both his expertise and his standing within the national community associations law community.
The 2027 Law Seminar is scheduled for January 27–30, 2027, at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. The planning committee held its first meeting on February 11, 2026, kicking off what will be a months-long effort to build a seminar worthy of its national reputation.
Adam leads Ward and Smith’s Community Associations Practice Group and serves as chair of the firm’s Business Section. He has been an active CAI member since 2006 and is a frequent speaker at the national Law Seminar, most recently taking the stage at the 2026 event in San Diego. He is also a Fellow of the College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL), a distinction held by fewer than 175 of the more than 4,000 attorneys who practice community association law nationwide. Adam earned this recognition for his outstanding leadership, high ethical standards, and commitment to advancing the legal principles and practical tools that community associations need to thrive. He also served as President of the CAI-NC Board of Directors from 2023 to 2024.
