Adam Beaudoin and Madeline Williams to Speak at the CAI-NC 2026 Annual Conference & Expo

Community associations attorneys Adam Beaudoin and Madeline Williams will speak at the 2026 CAI-NC Annual Conference & Expo, taking place August 13-14, 2026, at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem.

The annual conference, presented by the North Carolina chapter of the Community Associations Institute, brings together community association managers, board members, service providers, and industry professionals from across North Carolina for two days of education, networking, and practical guidance on issues affecting homeowners associations (“HOAs”).

Adam will present with Travis Crow, MBA, PCAM, of Premier Management on “55 and Better — Or Is It? Keeping Your Community’s Age-Restricted Status on Solid Legal Ground.” Their session will address the legal and operational considerations associated with age-restricted communities, including how HOAs can maintain compliance and mitigate risk while managing day-to-day community needs.

Madeline will present on the procedural and legal parameters of elections for the Board of Directors. “Board Election: Running a Fair, Legal, and Defensible Process” will examine how to structure an election process that is transparent, compliant with governing documents and applicable law, and capable of withstanding a challenge after the fact.

Ward and Smith’s community associations attorneys regularly advise community managers, and Boards of Directors on governance, collections, covenant enforcement, risk management, fair housing issues, disputes, and other matters affecting HOA living. Adam and Madeline’s presentations reflect the firm’s ongoing commitment to helping community association leaders make informed decisions and operate with confidence.
