North Carolina is home to more than 245 breweries, and this month you'll have a chance to sample more than 30 beers from more than 30 local producers all in one day. It's part of the 2018 AVL Beer Expo in Asheville and Ward and Smith is a proud sponsor. The third annual event, hosted by the Asheville Brewers Alliance, shines a spotlight on our state's thriving craft beer industry.
"For the last ten years, we have watched with great pleasure, and done our part to assist, as the Asheville craft beer scene has grown into a billion-dollar, state-wide industry in North Carolina," said Asheville Geographic Team Leader Lance Martin. "As the craft beer industry continues to grow and evolve, we are proud to show our gratitude by sponsoring this industry-centered event that educates and highlights this maturing cultural and economic force."
In addition to beer sampling, attendees will also learn more about different beer styles, meet the people behind the breweries, and discuss beer-centric topics in educational panels. The fun kicks off Saturday, February 24 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Masonic Temple in downtown Asheville. Tickets range from $30 to $60. You must be 21 years old or older to attend.
