Ward and Smith is proud to announce that Intellectual Property Attorney Erica Rogers has been appointed to the International Trademark Association (INTA) Right of Publicity Committee for the 2026–2027 term.
This committee plays a key role in monitoring global developments in the right of publicity, evaluating policy trends, and contributes to INTA’s thought leadership on issues at the intersection of identity, branding, and intellectual property. The right of publicity is a type of intellectual property right that protects against the misappropriation of a person's name, image, and likeness. Erica’s appointment reflects her her leadership of the firm's Name, Image, and Likeness Practice Group, demonstrated commitment to advancing IP practice, and her active engagement within the INTA community.
Erica has a strong history of service within the organization. She previously served on the Copyright Committee (2018–2021) and the Young Practitioners Committee (2022–2025)—including time as Subcommittee Chair for the Annual Meeting Programming Subcommittee, where she helped plan the First-Time Registrant Orientation and Reception for the Washington, D.C. and Singapore Annual Meetings.
As part of her new role, Erica will participate in committee assignments, calls, and meetings, and is encouraged to join several upcoming INTA events, including the INTA Annual Meeting in May 2027.
Please join us in congratulating Erica on this well-deserved appointment and thanking her for her continued service to the IP professional community.
