Ward and Smith, P.A. is proud to announce that attorney Jeremy R. "Jerry" Sayre has been named one of the "Rotarians Of The Year" for The Rotary Club of Raleigh. Mr. Sayre has been an active member of the Club for over four years and currently serves as Treasurer. The Rotary Club of Raleigh is recognized as North Carolina's first civic club. For almost a century, The Rotary Club of Raleigh has met in downtown Raleigh, focusing its formidable efforts on addressing community problems. Through volunteer service and financial contributions, the Club has enhanced the community in myriad ways: health and human welfare, education, youth advocacy, community development, international relations, and leadership development.
Mr. Sayre's practice experience encompasses all aspects of federal and state employment law, including Title VII, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, and various state law provisions. He has litigated employment matters in federal and state courts at both trial and appellate levels. Mr. Sayre also has defended claims of discrimination (including sex, race, age, national origin, and disability), retaliation, sexual and racial harassment, breach of contract, wrongful discharge, and other work-related tort claims.
