North Carolina Legislative Update: Three New Bills That Could Impact HOAs

Madeline has been actively involved with the CAI-NC Legislative Action Committee for several years, previously appointed as a Delegate in 2022 and elected as Secretary in 2023, 2024 and 2025. In her new role as Vice Chair, she will help guide the committee’s legislative priorities and advocacy efforts on behalf of North Carolina’s community associations, working closely with industry leaders to monitor and shape policy affecting community association governance and operations across the state.
Madeline’s appointment reflects her deep experience in community association law and her continued commitment to service and leadership within the industry. Ward and Smith congratulates Madeline on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her ongoing dedication to advancing responsible community association governance in North Carolina.
