Paul Fanning Joins UNCA Alumni Association Board of Directors

Creditors' rights attorney Paul Fanning has joined the University of North Carolina Asheville Alumni Association as one of its newest board of directors. 

In his new role, Paul will provide counsel to the Chancellor and other school officials in matters related to alumni, help strategize and implement initiatives to bring additional resources to the university, as well as encourage alumni participation while strengthening the bond amongst the 19,000 graduates from around the world. 

Paul leads the firm's Creditors' Rights Practice and is certified by the American Board of Certification and the North Carolina State Bar as a Board Certified Specialist in Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law.  His practice experience encompasses bankruptcy, collections, creditors' rights, and lender liability.  He represents creditors in complex bankruptcy cases and state court litigation, including workouts, collection reorganizations, and contested matters. His handling of bankruptcy disputes recently earned him a spot in Chambers USA 2019. He has also been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" and "Legal Elite."

Paul graduated from alma mater in 1993 before obtaining his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law.
