Ward and Smith is pleased to share that Sydney Smith, a trusts and estates attorney based in our Raleigh office, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Wake County Estate Planning Council (WCEPC).
In addition, she’s stepping up as the Board’s Director of Membership.
The WCEPC is a local chapter of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, bringing together professionals—attorneys, CPAs, financial planners, trust officers, and others—who are committed to promoting high standards in estate and financial planning. The Council provides educational programs, networking events, panel discussions, and resources that help its members stay informed on evolving trends and best practices in estate law and planning.
As Director of Membership, Sydney will focus on growing and engaging the Council’s membership. She’ll work closely with board colleagues, including the President, Programs Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer, to shape events and strategies that benefit both newcomers to the field and experienced advisors throughout Wake County.
At Ward and Smith, Sydney assists clients with estate planning, trust administration, probate, and related tax matters. Her active role in the WCEPC reflects the firm’s collaborative approach to client service. By serving as Director of Membership, Sydney will continue building strong professional relationships and help ensure that families in our community have access to knowledgeable advisors during important life transitions.
