Ward and Smith Sponsors Community Celebration for 2025 Distinguished Citizen Honoree

Star shaped crystal trophy

One inspiring night. One remarkable honoree. Join Scouting America, East Carolina Council at the Hilton Greenville as Pitt County celebrates Kristi Overton Johnson, with keynote remarks by Carolina Panthers Hall of Famer Wesley Walls.

This event brings together community leaders, businesses, and neighbors to recognize service that changes lives and to support Friends of Scouting, which equips the next generation with skills and character.

 Kristi Overton Johnson

Kristi’s journey—from world champion water skier with 80 professional victories and an 18-year women’s world slalom record to founder of KOJM and the Victorious Living Prison Outreach—has brought hope to individuals across the U.S. Through Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries and the Victorious Living Prison Outreach, she brings hope to incarcerated individuals across the U.S., including more than 400 men and women at the Pitt County Detention Center. Since returning to Greenville in 2020, she has helped spark unity and renewal through events like the Revival of Hope and ongoing ministry efforts—values that reflect the spirit of Scouting and the Distinguished Citizen honor.

Guests can expect an uplifting program, meaningful connections with fellow community champions, and a direct way to support Friends of Scouting, and Ward and Smith is thrilled to be a sponsor.
