The communities where we live and work are important to us.
That's why we are thrilled to support "Experience the Block," a celebration showcasing the most recent completed mixed-used complex in Asheville. The development, locally known as "The Block," is located in the Eagle and Market Streets neighborhood. This community is steeped in the history of the African American business district. In recent years, the neighborhood has undergone a lot of renovations to breath new life and bring new opportunities for growth to the surrounding areas.
The "Experience the Block" starts at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, with a tour of Eagle Market Place, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A cocktail hour and presentations at the YMI Cultural Center will close the annual fundraiser, which is a joint effort between the Eagle Market Streets Development Corporation and Mountain Housing Opportunities. Funds raised will be invested into community and economic development of "The Block."
