Ward and Smith Welcomes Meredith Jo Alcoke

Ward and Smith is pleased to announce that Meredith Jo Alcoke has joined the Firm and works from the New Bern office.  Ms. Alcoke’s practice focuses primarily on environmental matters, with an emphasis on coastal development and regulation.  Prior to joining the Firm, she served as an Assistant Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Justice, practicing in the Environmental Division.  Ms. Alcoke is an experienced advocate who has appeared before various courts, including the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, North Carolina Superior Court, and the North Carolina Court of Appeals, as well as before quasi‑judicial commissions such as the North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission.  She advises clients on issues related to administrative law and regulatory compliance.  Ms. Alcoke also is certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct mediated settlement conferences in North Carolina Superior Court.
