Online Commercial Lease Review Service

The Online Commercial Lease Review Service has been temporarily suspended. If you need help regarding any issues related to leasing agreements or disputes, contact one of our Real Estate attorneys.

We understand the legal concepts of force majeure, rent abatement, and frustration of purpose. As landlords and tenants adapt to these unusual times, the parties to a commercial lease need to know their risk in order to manage it.  We can help.

Introducing the Commercial Lease Review Service from Ward and Smith's Real Estate Team

We've developed an online service to safely and securely review your North Carolina commercial lease and supporting documents. After we review your materials, we will consult with you via video conference as to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the parties' obligations and responsibilities under the lease.

Meet with a Ward and Smith Real Estate Attorney

To begin this process, please access our proprietary and secure online platform to upload the lease and input key details. One of our experienced real estate attorneys will review and analyze the applicable provisions of your lease and then consult with you virtually (for up to one hour) to explain relevant provisions, answer questions about the documents, and if needed, advise you on your options to mitigate your risk.

Process

Getting started is easy. Simply fill out the form on this page. A member of our team will email you by the end of the next business day to confirm if we are able to assist you.

At that time, you will be asked to review and electronically sign an engagement agreement that explains our services. We will also provide you with a secure payment portal to pay the one-time service fee. You will then receive an email that directs you to complete an online information questionnaire and upload your lease documents.

A Ward and Smith real estate attorney will examine your information and lease documents. Within three business days, a member of our team will schedule a mutually agreeable time for a thirty to sixty-minute video conference with that attorney to explain and answer your questions. During the video consultation, we will also suggest any appropriate next steps for you to consider.

If it is determined during your conference that your legal needs are more complicated, and you want to address those needs in a more comprehensive way, you may choose to engage our firm further.

Fees

The cost for the Online Commercial Real Estate Review package, including up to an hour of attorney consultation via video conference, is $695 per commercial lease.

What's Not Included?

This Online Commercial Lease Review package is not the same as the type of comprehensive commercial real estate services our attorneys typically provide, where we can craft and negotiate leases to meet our client's specific requirements.  It is because of the unusual circumstances that we are able to provide you with a more limited review to assist you in navigating these uncertain times.

We are your established legal network with offices in Asheville, Greenville, New Bern, Raleigh, and Wilmington, NC.
