North Carolina Bar Association's Minorities in the Profession Committee Virtual 1L Interview Day

Ward and Smith was pleased to participate in this annual program on Thursday, February 18.

In a secure online environment, more than a dozen law firms and corporations interviewed first-year law students from Campbell, Elon, NC Central, UNC, and Wake Forest.

The 1L Interview Day is one of many ways the Minorities in the Profession Committee ("MIP") strives to increase the presence of minorities in the legal profession. "Ward and Smith wholeheartedly supports the MIP's Committee's efforts, and appreciates the opportunity to form relationships with these law students early in their careers," said Devon Williams, Ward and Smith's Co-Managing Director.

Williams continued, "Our partnering with MIP led the firm to hire talented 1L students such as Tisha Martin, a 2019 MIP summer associate, Avery Locklear, a 2020 MIP summer associate, and Justin Hill, a Ward and Smith Employment Law attorney previously who worked with us both as an MIP student and as a 2nd year before joining us in last September. We are thankful to be a part of this program."
