Ward and Smith, P.A. Sponsors TiE Carolinas and its Global Business Competition

Question: What do you get when you mix four smart teenagers + a teacher + an engineer + a lawyer?

Answer: An idea to save energy + reduce pollution + first place winners in a worldwide business plan competition.

Ward and Smith, P.A. is a proud sponsor of TiE Carolinas and its Global Business Plan Competition.  The competition involves 140 teens from nine cities in the United States, India, and the United Kingdom.

Last year Ward and Smith's role included coordinating the worldwide competition, teaching intellectual property, contracts, tax, liability, employment and securities law to the winning team, which they used to create their winning business plan.  In 2011, Ward and Smith will take on a new challenge.  We will work with the Wake County public school system to develop a business plan competition program for local high schools, and test it for wider distribution in other school systems.

Ward and Smith is devoting our expertise to this business plan competition because it is a good example of how we and our clients work together to achieve their goals.

Global competition can be both a challenge and an opportunity.  Is your team meeting the challenges so you can take advantage of the opportunities?

Competition is brutal.  Either your team becomes world class or your business is at risk.

Whether you are just starting your business, or are an existing business with major expansion plans, or someone in between, talk to us about how we can make a contribution to making your team world class.
