The “Faster Labor Contracts Act”: Not Law Yet. But Stand By
August 19, 2026
The Young Lawyers’ Division serves attorneys under the age of 37 or within their first five years of practice in Buncombe County, organizing events and initiatives that promote networking, mentorship, and pro bono participation among the area’s newer lawyers.
As co-chair, Mary Catherine will help guide the division’s programming and outreach efforts, including networking opportunities, community service projects, and events that connect young lawyers across Buncombe County. The division recently launched “Third Thursdays” at Highland Brewing, a recurring monthly social event focused on building connection and camaraderie among young attorneys.
Mary Catherine focuses her practice on litigation across a broad range of civil matters, including trusts and estates litigation, guardianship proceedings, real estate and landlord-tenant conflicts, and community association/HOA disputes. She represents clients through every stage of litigation, from initial case assessment and strategy through final resolution, including drafting and responding to pleadings, managing written discovery and document production, preparing for and attending court hearings, participating in mediations, and presenting oral arguments on motions.
