Media Mention: Attorney Emily Massey Quoted in Bloomberg Law Article on Transgender Bias Lawsuit

A Bloomberg Law reporter recently contacted labor and employment attorney Emily Massey for her insights regarding the EEOC’s lawsuit on behalf of a transgender plaintiff.

The article, “EEOC Transgender Bias Lawsuit Bolsters Agency Enforcement Plan” by J. Edward Moreno, details the EEOC’s action against a New York company for its alleged mistreatment of an employee based on the employee’s gender identity.

In the article, Emily comments on employers’ legal obligations to transgender workers and job candidates. 

“From a political standpoint, I think that it can be difficult for individuals or employers to wrap their head around allegations that relate to the transgender community,” said Emily Massey, an attorney at Ward and Smith PA. “But when it comes to the law, I think it’s clear.”
