Ward and Smith Welcomes Five New Attorneys

Ward and Smith is delighted to welcome a dynamic cohort of five attorneys.

Representing a breadth of capabilities spread throughout multiple offices, these professionals bolster the firm's strength in key practice areas throughout North Carolina.

Among the new additions are litigator Hannah Daigle; Emily Martchek, a business attorney; Sydney Smith, a trusts and estates attorney; and Genesis Torres, a labor and employment attorney, all of whom worked with Ward and Smith as 2022 summer associatesJameson Doub, a creditors' rights attorney who just completed a federal clerkship, rounds out this new group.

Litigation Attorney, Pending Swearing-In

Hannah Daigle's litigation practice focuses on commercial litigation, community associations, personal injury, and a variety of other matters that progress through litigation. She is dedicated to helping clients from the initial proceedings through litigation, mediation, or arbitration.

Jameson Doub HeadshotJameson Doub

Creditors' Rights Attorney 

Jameson Doub is a creditors' rights attorney dedicated to helping financial institutions, lenders, and other creditors with collections issues, workouts, and bankruptcy proceedings. He helps clients navigate issues related to commercial loan transactions, foreclosures, receiverships, liens, restructuring, and insolvency. He also drafts various contracts, loan documents, and workout documents.

Prior to joining Ward and Smith, Jameson served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph Callaway, Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Jameson is a resident in our Greenville office.

Sydney is a trusts and estates attorney with the firm. In that role, Sydney helps advise individuals, families, and businesses regarding the matters most important to them. This often includes preparing estate planning documents designed to efficiently and privately carry out clients' goals. 

Sydney also assists fiduciaries with the administration of estates and trusts, including issues related to probate and tax. She is an excellent listener and a practical problem-solver.
